This Privacy Policy explains how Walky Talky (“App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) processes personal data when you use our mobile application, website and related services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

When you use the App, limited technical data may be processed, such as:
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- General usage data (e.g. which features are used)
2.3 Location Data
The App may process real-time location data to enable walking tours or nearby audio content.
Important:
- Location data is not stored
- Location data is not tracked over time
- Location data is not used for profiling
- Location processing happens only while the App is in use
- Location permissions can be revoked through your phone’s settings
You can enable or disable location access at any time via your device settings.
3. Purpose and Legal Basis (GDPR)
We process personal data only when there is a lawful basis under Article 6 GDPR:

4. Tips, Donations, and Payments
Tips and donations are voluntary and processed via third-party payment providers (e.g. Apple, Google, or payment processors).
We do not store payment details.
Payment providers process data according to their own privacy policies.
5. Affiliate Marketing
The App may include affiliate links or references. This means:
- We may receive a commission if you make a purchase
- No additional personal data is collected by us for this purpose
- Third-party websites are responsible for their own data processing
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those third parties.
6. Sharing of Data
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data only with:
- Technical service providers (hosting, Google Analytics for Firebase)
- Payment processors (for tips/donations)
- Authorities, if legally required
All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and comply with GDPR.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. This may include anonymized usage statistics, device information, and app performance data.
Some service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.
Contact requests are retained for up to 24 months after resolution.
Account information is retained for as long as the account remains active, and up to a month after deletion of the account or sooner upon request.
Technical analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the relevant analytics provider.
Because location data is not stored, it is not retained after use.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)
- Receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (data portability)

9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data.
However, no digital system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under:
- 13 years old, or
- 16 years old where required by local law
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Third-Party Platforms (Apple & Google)
If you download the App via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, those platforms may independently collect personal data. Their data processing is governed by their own privacy policies.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
The latest version will always be available in the App.
Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
